Barbara Stepura

Artist Statement

Drawing has been one of my joys since childhood. As a life-long student, I continue to develop my skills and find great satisfaction and enjoyment from painting. I have discovered the challenges of “ en plein air” painting and find it is a process I most enjoy. Capturing a relatively “short moment in time” is a challenging endeavor. As clouds pass overhead, shadows shift, colors change and nature evolves, being able to represent that moment is exhilarating. As a lover of the outdoors, I find the experience of translating my view of nature to canvas captivates me and transports me to a place of peace, contentment, and oneness with nature that is a marvel to savor.
